Dave and Me

Title: Dave and Me
Author: Rusty Austin
Rating: 5/5

Very few books manage to hook readers from the very first page, and Rusty Austin’s Dave and Me is one of them. In the “Lightning Golf” chapter, the author recounts a memorable outing with his best friend Dave, when they decide to play golf on a stormy day along with Dave’s wildly unpredictable girlfriend. As thunder looms overhead, Rusty’s fear of being struck by lightning adds tension and humor to the scene. But does lightning actually strike?

Throughout the book, Austin masterfully captures the rhythm of real conversations and the unpredictability of everyday life. The stories feel deeply personal. As you read, you may even find yourself reflecting on your own friendships.

Austin’s ability to laugh at himself and those around him builds an instant sense of trust with the reader. Anyone who enjoys humor-driven storytelling will thoroughly enjoy this book. I was particularly impressed by the author’s sharp wit.

This is a well-written and engaging book with smooth narration and excellent pacing. There are no dull moments, and the title is simple yet perfectly aligned with the content. I’m genuinely excited to read more books by this author.
