I have explored numerous books by the talented author Victoria Wintersberger, but Gertrude the Dog Groomer stands out as my absolute favorite. This heartwarming and humorous story revolves around an elderly woman named Gertrude, whose vision is gradually deteriorating. As the days pass, she finds it increasingly difficult to perform her job as a professional dog groomer with the same precision and confidence as before.

Despite her struggles, Gertrude's love for dogs remains unwavering. She continues running her grooming salon, determined to provide the best care for her furry clients. However, challenges arise when multiple dog owners bring their pets in for grooming at the same time. Due to her failing eyesight, Gertrude begins to mix up the dogs, struggling to differentiate them and remember which grooming service each one requires.

Will she accidentally give the wrong haircut or services to a dog? How will the owners react when they see their beloved pets, only to find unexpected changes in their appearance? The book unfolds with amusing and lighthearted moments that kept me thoroughly entertained.
